MARyAnn Menlove has been involved in flag football since the fourth grade when she was the only girl playing with the boys during recess. With limited opportunities to play football, she pursued a degree in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Utah. During her time at Utah, MaryAnn interned as a student athletic trainer, working with the football, gymnastics, cheerleading, and volleyball teams. Watching football practice every day only deepened her love for the game.

After relocating to Southern California in 2019, MaryAnn began officiating flag and tackle football games. She quickly became involved in the NFL’s Flag Football Program and has officiated at national championships in Las Vegas, Orlando, and Canton, Ohio.

In 2021, while efforts were underway to advocate for California to designate girls' flag football as a varsity sport, MaryAnn worked club sports flag football games throughout Southern California. For six years, she has been dedicated to supporting young women in accessing opportunities in sports that she did not have.

“My greatest mission in life is to fight for others to have the opportunities I wish I’d had.  I aim to do that for young women worldwide and for my community of football officials.” – MaryAnn Menlove.

MaryAnn serves as the CIF State Rules Interpreter for Girls Flag Football, the California Football Officials Association Instructional Chairman for Flag Football, and will again officiate the NFL Flag Football National championships in Canton, OH, in July 2025.
